A4. The giraffe eats trees like Acacia. Lions eat the giraffes.

A5. The giraffe is an herbivore. I know because it eats plants.

A6. The giraffes bend, then they cover themselves with grass. Because the grass is the same color as the giraffe, no one sees them.

A7. The giraffe is a mammal. I know because it doesn’t lay eggs. It has body hair, and is warm-blooded, and it provides milk for its young.

A8. I think what is interesting about giraffes is that they are the fastest and tallest animals in the world. They can grow up to 18.7 feet tall.  They can run faster than a lion. They can run as fast as 40 miles per hour.

The Monitor Lizard is a Carnivore. I know because it eats meat.

The Monitor Lizard lives in the desert in Africa.

What do you think is interesting about the Monitor Lizard?

I think that the meat that the Lizards eats is interesting. It’s interesting to me because the inside of it is always red.

Flamingos protect themselves by pecking predators with their beaks in a fast jerk like motion. Flamingos also stay in large groups to avoid and confuse predators.

I think the flamingo is intresting because of it’s shape. It has a long neck like a skinny, bended rectangle.

9) Why are Flamingos pink in color?

Flamingos are not naturally pink. They are born with grey feathers, which turn pink because of a natural pink dye in their food. The dye is called canthaxantin, which is found in the shrimp and algae that flamingos eat.
